Romatec (Robert Muddiman Limited) was founded in Montreal, in 1955, when G.R. Muddiman, purchased an existing local distribution company, to service the process industries in the Province of Quebec. Experiencing excellent growth in the Quebec market, Robert Muddiman Limited then began an expansion program to establish office/warehouse locations to service process industries in Eastern Canada, opening in Toronto (1958), Sarnia (1966), Halifax (1979), Sudbury (1985) and Jonquiere (1986).
The company was purchased in 1970 from G.R. Muddiman (Donald G. Hewson,
Tom Mostowy, and William A. Reid. ), retaining Robert Muddiman Limited
as the incorporated name for the company while registering Romatec as the marketing
name for doing business.
In 2006 the company was purchased by an employee
group of Stephen Dockerty, Frank Spray and Al Hutton. and the company
name was officially formalized as Romatec Incorporated.
Romatec has expanded into a National company with offices in Edmonton, Calgary,
Toronto, Sarnia, Montreal, Jonquiere, and satellite offices in Sudbury,
Halifax, and Fredericton.
In 2006 Romatec opened its first U.S. location
with a warehouse
in Bakersfield California to service the California marketplace.
Another significant event was the establishment of Romatec's
instrumentation division providing quality products for process and emissions
monitoring. |
